Why Psychosynthesis counselling and psychotherapy?

Unlike many psychotherapies, Psychosynthesis looks forward as well as back into your life experiences. It helps you to understand who you are, and how to value and nourish yourself.

Our practitioners offer an integrative approach, that can help you find meaning and purpose in your life, as well as addressing issues such as self esteem and identity. When you begin to get a sense of this, you can be better placed –

  • to make good choices and decisions,
  • discover satisfying relationships,
  • find occupations that make you feel fulfilled, and
  • explore your creativity and sexuality.

In connecting to who you really are, your life can be seen to have more meaning whatever your age.

  • Psychosynthesis is a sensitive, powerful, depth psychotherapy that takes an holistic approach. It helps unravel many difficult issues in your personal life, in relationships and in the workplace. The issues may relate to anxiety, depression, anger, conflict and stress, but this process can go further than working with difficult feelings. Through it you can find self acceptance, direction, renewed sources of energy, fulfilment, creativity, joy, love, peace, and much more.
  • Often, your experiences of life may have caused you to lose touch with who you really are. You may need help to reconnect to your true identity and what you are seeking. Psychosynthesis counselling and psychotherapy can provide the ideal, nourishing environment for you to discover the essence of who you really are.
  • Psychosynthesis counselling and psychotherapy recognise the roles of mind, body, feelings and spirituality in that process, so you can start reclaiming and redirecting your life. While not supporting any particular religion, Psychosynthesis embraces the concept of a person having a spiritual dimension.
  • Psychosynthesis psychotherapy was developed by Roberto Assagioli (an Italian psychiatrist) in the mid 20th century, and incorporates many aspects of the work of Jung, Maslow, Kohut and Eastern philosophies. It focuses on helping to develop a person’s potential, enabling them to live effectively and to the full, and find meaning and sense of purpose in their lives.
